The Associazione Italiana Tecnici del Suono (i. e. Italian Association of Sound Engeneers) costituted and seated in Rome on April 21st, 1986. It includes location sound mixers, boom operators, sound editors and foley artists working in the movie business, television and commercials.

The AITS has been created to support and compare our professional, legal, cultural and moral issues and experiences about sound: our aim is being as much updated as we can about an always-more-demanding show business.

A growing number of productions in movie and television business see AITS members in their sound departments: we registered that 40 % of the italian movie production was made by our members in year 2000. Statistics have a growing trend due to the increasing of television productions in late years.

Our members have nominations (mostly winning) in the main italian and foreign movie’s awards about sound.
